O Light of the Church, Doctor of Truth, Rose of Patience, Ivory of Chastity, you freely poured forth the waters of wisdom; preacher of grace, unite us with the blessed. (During Easter time: Alleluia!)
V. Blessed Father, Dominic, pray for us (During Easter time: Alleluia!)
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ (During Easter time: Alleluia!)
Let us pray:
Grant, we beseech you, Almighty God, that we who are weighed down by the burden of our sins, may be relieved through the patronage of the Blessed Dominic, Your Confessor and our Father. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen moving forward.
The Dominican way of reciting the Rosary is rooted in a very ancient tradition, which begins with the Invitatory of the Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
(+) In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
V. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
R. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
V. O Lord, open my lips. [(+) on your lips].
R. And my mouth will announce your praise.
V. [(+) on your body] O God come to my assistance.
R. Lord, make haste to help me.
V. Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
R. As it was in the beginning is now and will be forever. Amen. (Recited uniformly throughout the Rosary). Alleluia. (prayed Except in Advent and Lent)
[Recite the decades of the Rosary while meditating on the appropriate Mysteries. Begin each decade with the “Our Father” and end each decade with the “Glory to…”].
Concluding Prayers:
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy! Hail, our Life, our Sweetness and our Hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn, then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
V. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, pray for us.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray:
O God, whose only begotten Son, by His life, death and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech thee, that meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
V. May the Divine Assistance remain always with us.
R. And may the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
(If priest or deacon is present, he will give the blessing, “And may the peace and blessing of Almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, come down upon you and remain with you forever.” Amen.)
